  • Introduction, Basic of fire, Fire Triangle, Tetrahedron, Classification and dynamics of Fire, Fire Fighting Fundamentals.
Module 2 - Types of Fire Fighting Systems
  • Fixed fire fighting systems - Water based, Foam, Gas based, Dry Chemicals, various types of Water based FPS like Sprinkler System, Hydrant System, Water spray & mist systems. Portable/Semi Portable Fire fighting systems – Various types of Extinguishers and Fire Hose Reel cabinet.
Module-3- Hazards
  • Types of Hazards, Classification of occupancies based on hazards, Types of Sprinklers and their temperature ratings, Application of various Fire sprinklers, Area Density curve, Coverage Area and spacing of sprinklers, Sprinkler Discharge characteristics-k factor.
Module-4 : Sprinkler System
  • Drafting – Single Line Diagram, Double Line Diagram.
  • Daily Water Demand Calculation, Types of Tanks, Essential components of Tanks, Overhead and Underground Tanks Sizing, Pumping Methods, Pump Head Calculation, Meters in Water Supply system
Module-5: Fire Hydrants, Stand Pipe & Hoose Systems
  • Introduction, Types of Hydrants, Applicationn and Sizes of Hydrants, Standpipe and Hose systems, Classifications, Combined Standpipe and Sprinklers system, Breaching Inlet[FDC]
Module-6 Pumps In Fire Fighting System
  • Fire Water Pump [Main Pump(electric pump), Jockey Pump and Diesel Pump] – Head Loss and Pump Head Calculations for High Rise Buildings.
Module-7 Fire Detection And Alarm System
  • Introduction, Components, Design Approach and Configuration, Types of detectors & notifiers, Spacing of detectors.
Module-8 - FM 200 System
  • QFM200 System Designing [Waterless Fire Protection system]: Design Considerations, Components, Working Principle, Capacity, Pipe Sizing, Nozzle Selection, Supports, Clean agent and its benefits.
Module-9 Active and Passive Fire Protection
